About

About Rock the Flock More Than an Aviary. A Commitment to Better Aviculture. Rock the Flock is dedicated to responsible parrot breeding, hand-raising, behavioral development, and thoughtful companion bird placement. Our work is rooted in a deep appreciation for the intelligence, individuality, and complex needs of parrots. Our Breeding & Raising Program Our aviary works with our own established breeding pairs as well as a network of carefully selected breeders and aviculturists. These relationships allow us to offer a diverse selection of companion parrots, including Quakers, sun conures, and other species. When appropriate, we acquire young birds from trusted breeding partners to hand-feed, socialize, and raise through our own program. This allows us to focus on individual development, positive human interactions, and preparing young parrots for life as companions. Behavior, Training & Rehabilitation We believe that understanding behavior is essential to responsible aviculture. Our approach emphasizes patience, positive reinforcement, appropriate socialization, and respect for each bird's individual temperament. In addition to raising young parrots, we work with adult birds, including birds surrendered into our care. When appropriate, these parrots receive individualized handling, training, and rehabilitation before being considered for placement in suitable homes. Thoughtful Placement Choosing a parrot is a significant commitment, and we believe successful placements begin with education and realistic expectations. We strive to help prospective owners understand each bird's personality, care requirements, enrichment needs, and long-term responsibilities. Not every bird in our program is bred or hand-raised by Rock the Flock. We believe transparency about each bird's background and development is an important part of building trust. Our Philosophy Every bird is an individual. Every placement matters. At Rock the Flock, our purpose extends beyond helping someone find a beautiful parrot. We want to help build informed, rewarding, and lasting relationships between people and the birds in their care.
