It is characterized by predominantly green plumage, with males typically displaying cobalt-blue markings on the rump, wings, and behind the eyes, while females lack these blue patches. This species is sexually dimorphic. In the wild, Pacific Parrotlets inhabit dry forests, scrublands, and semi-arid regions of western Ecuador and northwestern Peru. They nest in tree cavities and are often observed in small flocks.
