Baby Yellow Collared Macaw (Primolius auricollis) Available! Yellow Collar Macaws are considered a mini-macaw. They are relatives of the Blue-Headed and Illiger's Macaws. This species has all the advantages of having a large macaw, but has a slightly smaller body size. They are very social, charismatic and funny. If you work with them, they can become very good little talkers. Yellow Collars would make a wonderful addition to an existing flock but would also be a great introduction into a larger species of parrot. Ideally, the minimum cage size for this bird would be 36’’ long, 24’’ wide and 66’’ high with ¾’’ wire spacing. At Parrot Stars we focus on education, nutrition, and conservation. Every hand fed baby is weaned on to a high variety diet. They are weaned onto fruits and veggies, a soak and sprout mix made here in store, a high variety seed mix, also made in store, and naturally colored pellets.
