Baby Green Naped Lory (Trichoglossus haematodus haematodus) Available! Green Naped Lories are a subspecies of the Rainbow Lorikeet. They are native to Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Zealand, and New Caledonia. These strikingly colorful birds have a green nape, blue head and orange, yellow chests. They are playful clowns, that chatter while laying on their backs. They eat a special diet of nectar and fruit, which they drink with their brush-like tongue, so they can be quite messy. Ideally, the minimum cage size for this bird would be 30" long, 22" wide, 63" high with 3/4" wire spacing. At Parrot Stars we focus on education, nutrition, and conservation. They are weaned onto fruits and veggies, a soak and sprout mix made here in store, high variety seed mix that is also made in store, and naturally colored pellets.
