2 baby black-headed caiques; 14 weeks old; left-male; right-female. Fledged, vet wellness checked, and weaned. Gender testing is being done now and will be available around 12-2. Both are super sweet, accepts kisses all over, one loves to sit on your shoulder and is smaller and the other is larger and loves playing and adventure. Both are delightful, love to play with toys, and love to play with people.
Have only been raised with tenderness, love, and security. Consequently, they are calm, healthy, confident, and love people. They are both extremely good flyers and know about windows and mirrors. Only a couple times a day will they "sing" with squeaks and whistles, especially close to bed time. I love the strange and wonderful types of sounds caiques can make.
They are old enough to wait on their large, morning "dump" until taken out of their overnight cage and placed into a much larger morning cage. Caiques can easily be potty-trained and they don't like to potty in their overnight, smaller cage. Once placed into a larger, play cage, then they will potty. These caiques absolutely love pecans. I leave them in halves so they can practice holding something and eating. Pecans are exactly the right size for that practice. And then there's diced peaches or diced, fresh grapes. They will dive right in. I actually have photo of them eating. Give me an email where I can send the link from Dropbox and you will be able to see them in a little video. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have and/or send you more photos and links to videos. Sincerely, Gloree's Birds.
