The objects of the Society are the study of foreign and native birds; the dissemination among the members and public of information for the care, breeding and feeding of birds in captivity; the perpetuation of species that are threatened with extinction; and the publication of matters pertaining to aviculture.

Organization of Professional Aviculturists
The Organization of Professional Aviculturists (OPA) was created as a Not For Profit Trade Organization by a founding group of 80 aviculturists, and incorporated in the State of Florida in February, 2003, for the purpose of strengthening the future of aviculture, both by protecting the rights of aviculturists and by fostering a high degree of professionalism.

American Federation of Aviculture, Inc
The American Federation of Aviculture (AFA) is a nonprofit national organization established in 1974, whose purpose is to represent all aspects of aviculture and to educate the public about keeping and breeding birds in captivity.

Natinal Finch & Softbill Society
Founded in 1984, the National Finch and Softbill Society (NFSS) endeavors to educate any and all persons in the keeping and breeding of finches and softbills. As a non-profit organization, NFSS serves aviculturists in all fifty states, as well as Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Far East. We have affiliated clubs worldwide, are a member of the AFA, and have International Correspondent agreements with several large organizations around the world.
