I have had the pleasure to raise a B&G Macaw and I have a baby B&G Macaw ready to come home to us in 2 more months from his breeder. B&G's are the most wonderful charactors. My macaw Merlin is the sweetest. He is 9 years old. Very playful. He has never bit me or anyone else ever..not even when we play ruff with him. He loves to wrestle on his back with us and his foot toys. He likes to play tug-of-war with small hand towels. He is very quite during the day and night, tho once in a while he will scream for like 10 seconds. He loves to nestle up and be hugged and petted from the top of his head to the end of his very long tail. He likes his tail grabbed and shook with your hands (very gently). He will hold his wings straight up so you can itch his "arms"..and he likes to be tickled on his sides under his wings. He will fall asleep next to us while we watch tv, until we wake him up to tell him it's time to go ny-nite in his cage. We Love him so much. We cant wait til "Sheldon" our new baby  macaw to come home to us!

I did have one Hyacinth that was nuts. He took a chunk out my arm when I got too close to his cage. No matter what I did...he didn't change. Old and grumpy.
