I recently purchased a pet from Exotic Parrots 4 Sale, Laura Owens.  I found her through this website.  (I tried to post a review and it was not posted.)  I also posted a thread on this forum and somehow it was deleted.  Both were less than favorable, although I stated the facts.  I will try again to post it.

1)  Ms. Owens does not let you see the area where she raises the babies. She says people have come to her house and steal her birds.

2) She is a broker not a breeder.

3) She cut off the leg band of my Timneh, Babu, and will neither send me the band nor give me information where the baby was hatched (i.e. the real breeder).

4) I had to pick up my Timneh in the Safeway parking lot.

5) She did not allow us to hold Babu to examine him.

Babu is home with us and appears healthy and very social, despite her statement that he was not very social with strangers.

I am hoping that this post will not be edited or deleted, and makes it to the forum.

I'm sorry you had troubles with your breeder. Unfortunately, this will be removed as well as our forums are not for this purpose. If you have left a rating for the breeder, please email me at support@birdbreeders.com and I will be happy to see why your rating was never activated. Chances are, I haven't gotten to it yet as I am a couple days behind with my admin work.

Thanks for noticing...He's in a good home,

I've had Greys for over 20 years. (Paddywack died about 4 months ago).  My wife and I love the breed and had to get at least another.  Babu is my first Timneh.  At 14 weeks he's absolutely wonderful.  Our 20 week old Congo, Bindy, took right to him. She tried to feed him, unsuccessfully.  She then wanted him to preen her, but he just didn't get it.  It's great that they'll grow up together.  One thing I've noticed -- He loves to spend his time in the cage UPSIDE-DOWN...even eating that way from time to time.
