Hi, everyone

I know everyone will have there own experience. I am looking for a Macaw that has a nice personality and is very playful. I was told from a breeder that he has owned 8 different types of Macaw and that she thinks the Blue and Gold has the best personalities what do you all think?

I know that a lot has to do with how it is raised....but there is always a Macaw that just has a natural personality..

Yes I would say that the blue and golds make the better pets out of the larger Macaws but the main thing is to find a legit breeder that doesn't have a bunch of birds that they feed the babies and then spend no quality time with them other than feeding them and putting them back in the brooder. The babies need to be abundance weaned and handled by several different people while weaning.

There are way too many breeders that do not spend the quality time with the babies being handfed because they have too many birds. I personally have dealt with a few breeders that shipped me birds that were not abundance weaned when they said they were and to my surprise when I picked my baby up at the airport and got him and or her they were freaked out and bit and were flighty so I ended up having to tame them all over again but I payed for a sweet baby bird but did not get that. I understand most birds need to adjust to new surroundings but a few of the ones I got were horrible and acted like they haven't seen humans before. And these birds were bought from breeders with mostly good feedback so just be very careful and if you can buy in person I highly recommend that over shipping in a bird.
