| I bought my first pair of adult Congo African Grey (9 years male-11 years femlae) about 4 months ago and began to lay eggs, she lay 3 eggs in about 10 days but when she end the lay eggs period and started to heat the eggs she remove the chest feathers completely, I have discussed this with breeders and I've been told this is normal behavior, I want to know if this is normal and what should I do? This African is a very quiet parrot so i don't think that this was a stress problems, also before the breeding she not have a feather plucking problem, please help!!! thanks excuse my english.

There isn't anything wrong - I believe she is doing it to incubate the egg...she doesn't want her feathers there to interfere with her warmth so she can have her body heat "on" the egg as opposed to having the feathers between her and her eggs.
