| I took in a female yellow collared macaw a little more than a year ago as she would bite everyone (hard) at that time. She just turned 4 in July and now will let me cuddle her and give her kisses and scratch her head. She will still try to bite me if I startle her or scratch too hard, but she no longer bears down like she used to. The other birds, animals and people in my home still make her nervous. So, I think that after seeing her progress over the past year, that she would really thrive and become an even better bird if she was in a one bird (one animal) home. She has so much potential and has a great personality. If you or if you know of anyone who has worked with this breed and would be interested in taking her into their home, let me know.
