| I recently adopted a Nanday where I am at least his third home. He was described to me as not wanting to return to his cage, but after only having him about a week, he seems to be cage aggressive in that he doesn't want to come out. I think my home is overwhelming to him, because he would 'step up' and give kisses, and now he lunges and follows my hand around the cage in order to bite it when I'm cleaning and changing food and water. We love him and are keeping him. I'm leaving him alone for now and moving his cage (big cage) around to where I'm at, sitting, watching TV or on the computer, all the while talking to him, and ignoring his loud talk (screams...). I did get him out the other evening and gave him pellet after pellet while he sat on my shoulder (I know - man of the house position!). I don't make a big deal when he bites, just remove my attention and come back to him in about 5 minutes. My questions are these: What else can I do? I know earning his trust will take time. Also, where can I find out what some of his behaviors mean, such as wagging his head back and forth... and flipping his head upside down and rocking it (like he would look up and way back)? Thanks!
