I am only 12 Years old and I have 2 Cockatiels, Sapphire ( Sapphy)And, Tweedy. One is a boy and the other is a girl. They have been mating and so we bought a nest, so far Sapphy has laid 3 eggs. Today I need to change the food, But the Male, Tweedy was inside and wanted to protect the eggs and then came out. After I changes the food and put the calcium in I noticed Niether of them were inside of the Nest. I went back into my room thinking they were going to get back inside... About five minutes later I went to the cage and noticed STILL niether of them were inside, actually Tweedy, the Male was following Sapphy around Tweeting like crazy. ( I think he was attacking or trying to mate with her. ) Now about five minutes later I still find no one is inside or the nest.

I have Two questions though.

Why does he do this and how do I stop this Behavior? And,

How long can The eggs go WITHOUT being sat on WITHOUT the Little Chicks inside Dying?

Please Please PLEASE Respond to this, it will be very much appreciated not only by me but by my whole Family!
