It is so nice to find another finch breeder such as myself into gouldians. I should start by introducing myself: My name is Ron Cloutier I am the webmaster and head breeder @ Lady Gouldian Finch Canada ( http://ladygouldianfinch-ca.com) I am a champion breeder and one of the top breeders of Lady Gouldian Finches, Red Throated and Blue Faced Parrot finches, as well as Forbes and Javas. in Canada. I hold many repeat victories in many regional shows, and many national titles as well. I sponsor the best novice gouldian at my bird clubs annual show. First prize is $50. I hold a degree in Animal Sciences, and am taking a course on avian biology and health through the University of Guelph in Ontario Canada I have been breeding 20+ years and have just recescently been asked by the AACCC to begin training as a panel judge. We have a thriving international market as we ship internationally , same day guaranteed ( accept for asia and australia) We have one philosophy and that is that we do everything we can to make our birds healthy and productive and raise their own chicks. We prefer colony breeding and are strong opponents against fostering finches under bengalese. If you would like to know more about me plesae do not hesitae to ask. I do hope to get along and enjoy meeting other fanciers and helpingthem as muchb as I am able.

| Hi Ron, I have noticed you are in a lot of the same bird groups I am in as well. Welcome to Bird Breeders.com . While we do not colony breed our Gouldians we do believe in letting them raise there own Although this is much debated in the Gouldian world (which I won't even get into). We cage breed just about everything we breed to control selective breeding. So when are you going to send me down some Silver (Opal) Java Finches ..LOL I wish...Why just yesterday I seen a rouge flock of Javas pecking the eyes out of a local farm hand and devisating the rice fields..LOL What a stupid law now forbidding Javas to be imported into the USA. At the time perhaps it was needed but now-a-days most people in the USA don't even know what a Java Finch is.

Ooh, goodness. I'm a fledgling breeder.
I haven't worked my way up to breeding my Gouldians, though I do have a pair. (Not breeders, sadly.)
I've successfully managed two broods from my society finches...which, I guess is no real hard thing. The male of that pair passed away in the past few months, however.
Eventually, I would like to get a pair of owls. As well as more Gouldians. (Of course, without a place of my own, transporting cages everywhere is rather difficult, exhausting and stressful.)
I hope you don't mind that I'm not an official breeder, yet. I'm working on it though!

I have two single male Cordon Blue Waxbill finches if anyone out there needs them. They are last year's birds and have already raised when they had females. New finches breeders in town....texastailfeathers.com...a nice selection of the little fellars.
