| i am fixing to buy a Yellow Naped Amazon about 12 years old. The man and wife that we are geting her from said that it would be best to keep her cage covered up for a couple of days after we get home and then slowly remove the cover a little at the time so he can get use to us and his new home , and it would be less stress on him . is this true ? The people that has her now has had her about 3 years and they said that they don't have enough time to spend with her now. they seems to get along with her good , and they said she took to the woman best . Is she to old at 12 years old to take to us ?[b]

| Im not a breeder or anything, and im no expert. Im not sure about the whole covering the cage thing, but her taking to you has nothing to do with her age. It could be your sex, personality, ect. I dont think her age would effect it at all. Birds have old habbits thats for sure, if she took to the women before, shes probly going to like women better. It all depends, hope I was of some help.

| Oh I see, lol. Well if I were you I would just make sure to spend more time with him then the girls. This way he bonds more to you.

| you want to bond with your YNA ? learn how to preen not pet or scratch, but preen . it's something that their mate does ,it's not like petting which is something that you want to do. learn how to do it right and you'll be the man! Richard @ www. carolinaparrots.com
