Hello Everyone, I need some recommendations: cage size, books, and breeders in NY, CT and or around. How to choose a correct bird for yourself? Prices (I found 800-1100) for african grey congo. How old the bird should be? Any good books to read, websites or FAQ? I used to have this bird when I was 19. My African Grey stayed "temporarily" in my family for 3 years. After my relatives took the bird away from me, ever since I wanted the same kind of bird Thank you, Asgaroth

Grey should be fully weaned before you buy it but better not to buy an older bird 2 yrs. etc unless you know for sure it hasn't picked up bad habits already. If you can work with the bad habits it's no problem but if not it will just get passed on from one person to the next. This species should also be well socialized if you are wanting it for a pet because they can become really nervous and shy.
