I think I'd candle the eggs before sending them to the fridge.  If they are in the very very very beginning stages I could agree with this, but something that is days away from hatching, I just don't agree with doing this.  But since it hasnt been said how many days it's been since they were laid and if they were fertile to start with and if your parent birds are worn out then youd have to use your own judgment on this one.

You can order artificial eggs from this site so you dont need to go through the trouble of muddling the real eggs and having to leave them in for her to sit on..
