Hello From Illinois!

I sit here trying to type while a disgruntled parrotlet (who wants my full attention) attacks those moving digits.    Prior to this I was playing with AJ my 12 year old greenwing attempting to familiarize him with a flight suit.  Don't ask me how it went.  Talk about one extreme (in size anyway) to the other..and yet...they both are so very unique just because they're birds   We are 3 here meaning there are 3 of us who take care of this aviary.  The 3 are myself, Paula-- I'm the old oldest, my daughter Dani--the youngest, and Tony, the newbie and most highly talented son-in-law to be who is a baby himself.  It is a fortunate situation for us all to have one another to work and care for the aviary together for as you all know, an aviary is work and never ending at that. ( This parrotlet is never going to give up..she's hanging on my glasses as if to say, Hey, remember me?)  Work or not, the privilege of being around these birds outweighs the clean up factors .  Perhaps its best I make this short for I have been known to become a bit wordy....Tony, I and Dani are here to say howdy ho, glad to meet you and a generous thank you to those who offer this site. We want to wish you blessings on your day and yours and to thank those who have made this site available to us all.   I'm headed to the bathroom for a bandaid...she got my fingers and computer keys a bit mixed up..big ouch for such a little bird.

Joys in all your work,

Tony, Dani and Paula

Although we are classified as an aviary, we do not choose to breed for profit.  We aren't in a rush to sell, sell, sell. We aren't the most spectacular aviary in the world.  We aren't the BEST of the BEST of the BEST.  We aren't the bird police.  We don't have an opinion because everyone else has that same opinion.  We don't believe in that type of attitude.  But we do believe in the care and housing of our birds and desire to give them the a good diet, a place of security and a place where they never have to leave.   We also believe in pairing our birds so that they have companions.  We sell when birds are available to buyers who desire a life long pet.  We have parrots in our aviary who have been discarded by the public and by one time breeders.  A discarded pet is a displaced pet who is confused by new surroundings, confused by change of diet,  and sometimes the product of abuse or the lack or change in attention.  We ask if you desire a pet from us, please think on it long and hard as these beautiful creatures live many, many years and are creatures of habit.   You, therefore, become their food supply, their mate, their home, their familiar surroundings.  You are responsible for a safe and happy atmosphere.   We express our gratitude in advance that you have taken time to read this. May your day be blessed and may you enjoy the incredible colors as one of these beautiful birds spreads its painted wings for flight...incredible doesn't even cover it.
