| I have a timneh african grey. I would like to get another bird, but don't want anyone getting hurt lol. I think getting a bird around the same size as my grey would be the best bet. does anyone have any idea's on possible birds. I don't want a screamer, the only noise my grey makes is when he is talking to us and don't want him picking up any bad habits such as screaming and screeching. I would also like a bird that eats the same kind of food (zupreem parrot pellets and fresh fruits and veggies) thank you in advance for your input.

| Hello there! I have a single tinmeh female, who is kept in the same room, as a pair of Hahns, Macaws, Sever Macaws, a Nansun Conure, and Cracker the african grey has not picked up the scream of the conure. Another grey would be a good choice, or perhaps a white fronted amazon.Best Regards Robert / AZ Blue Moon Aviary LLC

A long time ago, I had an African Grey only
and then bought Amazons, which was a mistake.
When I brought one of them in the house to put her in the same room as my grey,
they both got very threatened.
Not only this, but the Amazons were much more aggressive
and dangerous than my African grey. I think one of them could have killed her if I had
allowed it. Even though I have heard of different species being freinds, I'm not sure
I would take this risk again.
The Amazon who shared the room with my grey used to fly up to her cage
and try to attack her and I had to break up the fight several times.
Some birds are known to kill other birds.
I also had a parakeet for a while and in this case my grey was a threat to the parakeet.
I don't think she meant her any harm.
She opened up her mouth and the parakeets whole head fit right in her mouth.
She was only playing.
If I was getting another bird I would get one of the same species for safety.
