| I have two quaker parrots a male and a female. The female for probaly the past month has laid an egg every other day and then she eats it i want to know why she does this and also how i can get her to stop laying eggs and stop eating them also she has gotten really vicous it has gotten so bad that i can barely pick her up because she attacks me and when i pick up the male who is starting to bite again to she flys at me and bites me how can i stop all this behavior

| If they are laying eggs, they probably want to be left alone. I would stop trying to handle them as it is just stressing them out and could, in some cases, cause them to break their eggs. As far as the sudden aggression - they are just protecting their eggs.

| Greg is right, they are protecting the nest and eggs. You can't be playing with them, and breeding them....breeders need to be left alone. If she's eating them, it's her way of protecting them -- they may never be good parents, if this keeps up. Now that she's in the habit and knows what's going on.....it may not change - take the box down for a year -- and maybe she'll forget it's breakfast time.... regards,
