I am looking for a new bird. i have had an African Congo Grey in the past and parakeets. The Grey was terrific but I felt he did not get the time and attenton he needed after I started having kids. My (4) kids want a bird with speaking potential. I never had a parakeet that spoke.I have a custom cage 45"long 15 deep and 20 wide. I want a bird that will be comfortable in this size. I also am considering 2 birds understanding they will bond less with the kids but I won't feel bad if they ignore them at times. What about LINNIES?? someone suggested them. I do want FRIENDLY birds. Any suggestiond will be appreciated.
Hi I am looking for a new bird. I had an African Congo Grey in the past and parakeets. I am too busy with 4 kids and they loose interest at times with the birds to invest the time in another large bird. It's not fair to the bird. I have a beautiful cage 45" high, 15 deep and 20 wide that my parakeet was in. My kids want a bird that talks but I do not want a bird that will not fit in this cage comfortably and I thought maybe I should get 2 birds(yes I know the bonding issues) but I want them to be happy. I will get hand fed birds to helpwith bonding issues. can anyone make some suggestions? Whay about linnies? Someone said they can speak. I NEVER had a parakeet that said a word. Any suggestions are apprciated. Thanks
