| I am new to breeding mandays. I have breed finchs and lovebirds. I was wondering how long it will take for the birds to hatch so far they are sitting on 4 eggs. I can't get near the eggs or the birds. I do however look in the nest and put some food in there and they eat it. I just want to make sure the female gets the food she needs to be able to feed her babies. I am not sure what I'll do with the 4 babies. I find it very hard to part with any of my birds, they have become my children. I purchased 5 teils one has a wing he will not put close to his body. The vet said that nothing was wrong. I also purchased a teil whose upper mandel keeps growing. His lower mandel is split, to bad it can't be filled in. The vet found this for me. I trip his upper mandel when it gets to long. Then it takes about a week for him to come close to me. I also have 2 quaker. My first quaker was very nasty when I got him. He is now very friendly with me. The other I think was breed in a group of birds and had pulled his feathers out. I also think he is deft but very skidish so I pick him up and hold him He seems to want to be with the teils so once in a while I put him in there cage and he is very contnet. The teils don't seem to mind. I love all my birds, my lovebirds lay eggs but lately they don't seem to hatch. One pair has produced two babies one at a time. The other pair just lay eggs. Well that is my story. Any comments would be appreciated.

| Hi there! Do you mean Nandays? It will be about 25-28 days before any "kids" start to hatch. Sounds like you have a great group of birdies!

| Hi thank you for the information. Both parents are in the nest the male Bubba dosent come out for very long. They are both sitting on the eggs, there are 6 eggs now. I have never feed baby birds. I did a lot of reading and this weekend there is a bird fair which I will attend. I think I can learn how to do this from some of the breeders. Other wise I will let the parents take care of them.
