Hello,

I have a male lutino ringneck.  He is 18 months old and he needs a friend.  I have 8 birds in all and no one wants to be his friend.  He loves my Cockatoo and my B&G Macaw.  They don't want anything to do with him.  They do tolerate him, but that is about it.  I tried another ringneck, but that did not work out.  It was also male.  I do not want to get a hen as I do not want babies.  Can anyone suggest a bird that will get along with my Jack?

Hi Rose Petal,

I would suggest his own species.  But even that might not work.  Birds have the same thing goin' on as people.  I don't like or "click" with everone I am put in a room with.  Same applies to Jack.  But I would probably think that his own kind would be your best bet.  FYI-just because you get him a female doesnt mean they "have" to have babies.  Just don't encourage them,  thats all

Hope that helped a bit.

Try a bird younger than him- a really sweet hand-fed one whose parents are the same color as him.  He will see Jack as 'Mommy" and try to cling to him.  That bird is more likely to bond with him than an adult.

Hope it helps!
